A Moment of Weakness
Whiskey + “Dearjohn” + A long walk back to the apt by myself in the rain = The loneliest I’ve felt in a long time.
That said, don’t expect to read another entry like this on my blog ever again.
As a good friend of mine would say…
I’m done.

It’s one of life’s greatest frustrations to be up late at night and hungry.
You don’t want to eat at the late hour because you know that’s how you gained your Freshman 15 during undergrad, but your stomach is grumbling and all you have in the kitchen is a freshly opened jar of Nutella… with nothing to compliment it. On top of that, you’re trying to cut down...

Bully Beatdown?
20 dudes jump 2 guys. Then, 7 dudes jump 1 of the 20 guys in retaliation. Whatever the case may be, every one of those guys are still chumps.
Just sayin’.
One Week Later
Today marks my first week anniversary of my arrival in New York City. While this particular milestone is generally of little importance overall, I can say that the past 7 days have been a time of learning, adjustment, and reflection.
I’ve learned a great deal about my surroundings thus far, from which trains I’ll need to take to get around town and what pizza spots around my apartment...
Ten Years Ago
If you were to tell me back in 2002 that I would one day move to New York City in pursuit of a Master’s degree and a better life, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Cheers to the new year and a new city.

Just a Thought...
Okay, so Casey Anthony gets accused of killing her infant daughter and gets a slap of a wrist due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Troy Davis gets convicted of killing a police officer and was executed late last night, despite the fact that witness testimonies of the event had been changed and recanted in his favor over the span of his 20 year incarceration. The reason for this injustice?...
Fight Fight Fight!
This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend an SDSU football game at good ol’ Qualcomm Stadium. As I watched the hometown Aztecs take on the visiting Washington State Cougars, the one feeling I couldn’t shake throughout the night was wonder, and jealousy, towards how electric the atmosphere was for this collegiate sports event. Back at UCI, campus pride in our sports teams was...

Imagine walking through a department store or some other clothing retailer. Now, as you browse through the racks, a nice looking button-up catches your eye. It’s the exact color you were looking for and fits precisely into your particular style of dress.
In other words, it’s perfect.
So you excitedly take this item over to the nearest dressing room and try it on only to find...

The Joy of Writing
Last night, I was sucked by a friend of mine into watching a number of short films that had been produced by Wong Fu Productions (also known as Sketchbook Media) through the years. As the night rolled on, I began thinking about how their videos had evolved since they first began releasing videos in 2004, looking not just at the improvement in Wong Fu’s filmmaking and cinematography, but also...

Focus Fire: Suits
In a day and age where mediocre television rules the ratings (See: The Jersey Shore, any show involving the Kardiashian family, etc.) it makes me happy to know that there are still a number of high quality TV series that see the light of day. One such new series is Suits, a comedy-drama that is currently airing on the USA Network.
Set in New York City, the premise of this show revolves around...

Fantasy Football & Why We Play It
With the 2011-2012 NFL Regular Season just around the corner, I wanted to take this opportunity to repost this League Manager’s note that was composed by my good friend, contemporary, and Best Damn Fantasy Football Co-Commissioner, Mikhael Andaya. For those of you who have wondered through the years how it is that fantasy football has managed to become such a wide-spread phenomenon, feel...

You Know You're Old When...
You’re walking around a college campus and suddenly come to realize that a lot of the younger folks you see don’t know who the Snorks are.

The Middle Finger and Why It's No Longer Cool
I’ve come to notice in recent years that an age old gesture that had proven itself meaningful and effective over the years is started to lose some of its swagger. I would often see folks tossing it up everywhere and all the time, especially in pictures that I see plastered all over the internet.
This gesture is putting up your middle finger.
As far back as I can remember, giving someone...

Here's to the Next Step
I learned a lot about myself in 2010. Some of the things I learned were positive: points that I will continue to build upon as I work towards my personal goals in both life and love. Some of the things I learned were negative: aspects of my personality that have caused a lot of grief, which I will do my very best to change.
At the end of the day, nobody is perfect and everyone can do with some...
