You were everything that was right about professional football. You were our fearless leader and stalwart defender. The source of our courage, and the driving force that kept our team going even when all seemed lost. With your actions both on and off the field, you became a brilliant beacon of skill, dedication, passion, and love. Love, not just for your friends and family, but also for your teammates and the entire city of San Diego. In essence, you were a larger than life hero and an inspiration to us all.
With that said, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being a spectacular human being, and though you may now be gone, rest assured you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Junior Seau.

A Moment of Weakness
Whiskey + “Dearjohn” + A long walk back to the apt by myself in the rain = The loneliest I’ve felt in a long time.
That said, don’t expect to read another entry like this on my blog ever again.
As a good friend of mine would say…
I’m done.
Hongreh
It’s one of life’s greatest frustrations to be up late at night and hungry.
You don’t want to eat at the late hour because you know that’s how you gained your Freshman 15 during undergrad, but your stomach is grumbling and all you have in the kitchen is a freshly opened jar of Nutella… with nothing to compliment it. On top of that, you’re trying to cut down your expenses knowing that the upcoming month of February is going to strain your wallet a bit.
But you’re hongreh.
$4.50 for a quick meal can’t hurt too much, right? Right? Right.
Off I go.
Bully Beatdown?
20 dudes jump 2 guys. Then, 7 dudes jump 1 of the 20 guys in retaliation. Whatever the case may be, every one of those guys are still chumps.
Just sayin’.
The first time I ever had the opportunity to listen to John West’s music was back in 2006 when he did a small show at Lestat’s Coffee House in San Diego. 6 years later, Mr. West finally made it big and has since been given the opportunity to work with some of the hottest names in the music business today (most notably G.O.O.D. Music artists Big Sean and Pusha T).
Though John’s sound has been slightly altered to suit mainstream tastes, the folks at Mercury/Island Def Jam have done a good job in leaving the spirit of his music intact. Rather than change West’s style altogether, they’ve simply dropped catchy beats underneath his trademark soulful piano and acoustic guitar rhythms, which, combined with his smooth voice, should do more than enough to keep John’s original fan base wanting more while attracting newer audiences.
If you aren’t too familiar with this man’s work, I definitely recommend sitting down and giving it a quick listen. Also, feel free to look up one of his older tracks “Keep It Together” if you have the opportunity!
